This was a delightful picture to paint. I really enjoyed using an impressionistic, spontaneous approach to capture the delicate clusters of flowers bursting out of the dark mass of foliage.
The Thousand Islands region of Ontario, Canada, was the perfect backdrop for a childhood filled with adventure for Richard De Wolfe, an artist who still identifies strongly with rural life.
